I N B O D Y
Blue Spirit, Nosara, Costa Rica
November 21 - 28, 2026
A seven-day guided journey back into your body led by Ailey Jolie.
In person. On the earth. At the edge of the Pacific.
Join INBODY RetreatIf the phrase "listen to your body" sounds more like a riddle than advice, this retreat was created for you.
Maybe you have spent years trying to think your way back into your body, and it has not worked.
Maybe you know the theory, the nervous system, the somatic practices, the language of embodiment,
but you still feel like you are watching your own life from somewhere far away.
Maybe you have done the online work, and you are ready to do it with your feet on the ground,
your skin in the heat, and other women in the room beside you.
This is the in-person INBODY experience.
Seven days. Seven body stories. Seven days together.
Blue Spirit sits in the jungle above the Pacific coast of Nosara, Costa Rica, with open-air practice spaces, a salt-water infinity pool, and the sound of the ocean underneath everything. Nosara lies on the Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world's five Blue Zones, regions where people live the longest and report the highest levels of well-being.
But this retreat is about more than the place.
It is about what happens when a small group of women move through this material side by side, sharing meals, sharing silence, sharing a week when no one has to explain why coming home to your body matters.
As women, we are conditioned from a young age to distrust or ignore our bodies' signals.
We learn to prioritise productivity over presence. To pretend our pain is not there. To shame ourselves for wanting what we want. To suppress our desires for pleasure in favour of pleasing other people. The most damaging conditioning we receive is the belief that how our bodies appear to others and serve others is more important than how it feels to live within our one and only body.
Disembodiment is what keeps us numb, detached, and stuck, repeating patterns that no longer serve us.
It is why we stay in relationships that deplete us.
It is why we push past physical pain to present as perfect.
It is why we eat when we are not hungry or skip meals when we desperately need nourishment.
Here is what no one tells you: disembodiment is a byproduct of the world we both call home.
A world structured to keep us confined within our minds and disconnected from deeply knowing that our body is a place no one else can ever truly go, a place only we can ever fully know, a place that holds the wisdom needed to create our most fulfilling life.
The Retreat
SEVEN DAYS.
SEVEN THEMES.
ONE INTENTION:
to come to the body.
Each day of the retreat follows one of the seven INBODY body stories — the same arc you may know from the online program, now lived in a room with other women, held by the jungle, the ocean, and a week with nowhere else to be.
This retreat includes one live call before and one live call after to help you feel held during the retreat and get the most out of our time together. An INBODY journal will be provided.
Day One: November 21, 2026
Your Arrival
4:00 p.m. Check in and settle into your room.
6:30 p.m. Welcome dinner. Our first meal together.

You'll get an overview of the week and an introduction to the window of tolerance, the idea that guides how we pace everything that follows. You'll receive your INBODY retreat journal, and you'll be invited to share your responses to the pre-retreat journal prompts on society's story in your body, first introduced in our November 7th call.

A DAY AT THE RETREAT
Each day has the same schedule, so your mind can surrender.
Morning movement with Ailey is somatic, feminist, and thematic. This is a practice you cannot access in the online program. It lives here, in the body, in the room, and it changes with each day's theme. Then breakfast, followed by meditation and reflective journalling. Free time comes next for the ocean, the hammock, the quiet.
After lunch, the afternoon group session is the heart of each day: teaching, discussion, somatic practice. You will move through this material together, not just hear it, but feel it land in your body while other women are feeling it land in theirs.
In the evening, you will be offered a closing somatics practice such as restorative yoga, sound bath, or yoga nidra, followed by a closing reflection. All dinners are facilitated together, creating space for the kind of unhurried conversation that only happens when women sit with each other long enough to stop performing.
This is for you if...
-
You have been in the process of coming home to your body, through INBODY or another path, and you are ready to do this in community.
-
You do not need to have completed the online program.
-
You do need to be willing to be in your body, in community, for seven days.
-
You have started to notice the rules you were handed about your body (be smaller, be quieter, don't need too much) and you want to find where they live in you.
-
You want to understand your body, not just relax it.
-
You can let things come up without needing them resolved by the end of the week.
-
You are an INBODY alum and want to complete the retreat requirement for certification.
- You know this is education, not therapy, and that you can change or sit out any practice whenever you need to.
AILEY JOLIE
Creator of the INBODY Method
I know what it feels like to be a stranger in your own skin. To keep going, keep functioning, keep showing up, while some part of you is not really there. To read all the books and try all the practices and still feel like you are watching your own life from somewhere far away.
I came to the practices of both psychotherapy and later somatics because I needed both equally. I spent years confused, overwhelmed, and lost trying to understand the sensations of my body. I did not understand how I could feel so numb at certain moments and so flooded at others. How I could crave closeness and then feel myself leave the moment anyone got too near. I had experiences early in my life that taught me my body was not safe to inhabit. And I spent a long time believing that if I just understood enough, read enough, tried hard enough, I could think my way back home. I could not. The body does not work that way. Coming home is not an intellectual project. It is a felt one.
I hold two Master's degrees: one in Counselling Psychology, one in Depth Psychology with an emphasis in Somatic Studies. I completed a certificate in Trauma Recovery through Harvard Medical School. I am a Chartered Psychologist, a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and a Certified Sex Therapist. I have trained extensively in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, EMDR, and Jungian depth work. I am currently writing my first book on feminist somatic psychology.
I created INBODY because I kept having the same conversations in my practice. Women were getting fragments when they deserved the whole picture. I wanted to build something that held the complexity. The somatic psychology, the interpersonal neurobiology, the intersectional feminism, and the felt experience, all of it together. This retreat is exactly that.
